And the Honors Go to…

The Southeast Desalting Association honored BSU with the Outstanding Membrane Plant Operations Award. The annual award recognized excellence in the operations of the utility’s reverse-osmosis plant. SEDA based its decision on the plant’s strong record of training, compliance with regulatory agencies and safety. The RO facility, which came online in early 2004, draws water from underground supplies and forces it through a membrane to remove salt before the purified water is blended with traditionally treated potable water.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection presented BSU with a Good Neighbor Award for assisting other water and wastewater facilities in the aftermath of the 2005 hurricanes.

CH2MHILL, an international engineering and construction firm, chose BSU for its annual Excellence in Safety Award in recognition of their work in maintaining a safe work site.
