DEDICATED TO OUR MEMBER-CUSTOMERS
2003 was a year of preparation for Bonita Springs Utilities. A new reverse osmosis water treatment facility was under construction, and plans moved forward for a second water reclamation facility to be built east of I-75. These two facilities provide the framework for a water and wastewater system that will serve the Bonita Springs community well into the future.
Each of these projects has involved many decisions – some have been clear-cut, and others complex. One standard consistently guides the board in making difficult decisions – the best interests of our member-customers come first.
The board tends to take a progressive, long-term view, adapting to new technology, building for inevitable growth and aggressively protecting our environment and our water resources. While we don’t make decisions about major expenditures lightly, we are willing to make the financial investments necessary to provide excellent and reliable service.
I am honored to have served as president of the utility for the past four years. It is a pleasure to work with a board that makes every decision with our member-customers in mind. These dedicated members volunteer their time and efforts for the good of the utility and the community. They deserve our thanks for their sound judgment, commitment and vision.
