THE
CHALLENGE OF CHANGE
All businesses face change. Bonita Springs
Utilities is no different. Rather than react
to change, we take care to plan for the
future – to anticipate the need for
new equipment, monitor the latest technology,
prepare for shifts in staffing and brace
for the unpredictability of weather. We
watch population trends and pay attention
to what others in our field are doing. Most
successful businesses do the same things.
Not even the best planning, however,
could prepare the world for the events of
Sept. 11, 2001. In the days that followed,
it’s doubtful that many foresaw the
far-reaching changes to come. Change has
been forced on many businesses, and most
have begun to plan in very different ways.
At Bonita Springs Utilities, Inc. the
delivery of safe potable water always has
been our top priority. Our board takes a
consistently proactive business approach,
routinely going beyond what is required
to ensure quality service. The board moved
quickly during the last months of 2001,
and our staff was diligent in reviewing
our procedures and instituting new measures
to enhance the security of our facilities.
The opening of BSU’s new reverse
osmosis facility later this year is evidence
of the power of planning and our ability
to adapt to change. Let it also be a sign
of our commitment to continue to provide
Bonita Springs with safe, reliable potable
water and wastewater treatment, no matter
what may change.
